Generic servers become a CDN cloud

VideoExchange is a software based CDN. There is no need for load balancers, DNS servers, expensive storage devices or global load balancers. Setup a number of servers, we install the software remotely and you can configure the CDN in a professional web interface.

Generic hardware

The first step in deploying out a CDN after the architecture design is setting up the hardware. You can use off-the-shelf servers from IBM, HP, SUN, Dell or any other professional server vendor. Media Servers can be a mix of Linux and Windows servers, the CDN management servers run on Linux.

Zero network impact

Since VideoExchange runs on generic servers, you do not have to redesign your network. You may want to upgrade switches to make sure that the CDN PoPs can deliver their traffic. No need to replace load balancers. No unknown new devices in your network. No DNS changes or dependencies. No specific storage solutions.


Rocket science for the rest of us

VideoExchange is a very advanced CDN solution. Yet it runs on common, off-the-shelf hardware. You do not need expensive load balancers, geo load balancers, switches, routers, storage devices or DNS servers.

 

The expertise requirement therefore is also very low. We have a reference list of expected expertise which -for most CDNs- is limited to professional knowledge of hardware, operating systems, streaming services, server management and web services.


Deployment support

Use our hardware reference to meet the memory, storage and IO requirements for each type of server in the CDN: core servers, edge servers, database servers, management servers, and so on. Our staff is ready to help you with hardware configurations, OS setup and storage setup. For larger projects we work with selected system integrators who deploy the infrastructure for you.

Lease infrastructure

If you don't own a network, we can setup CDN PoPs for you in Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Russia. We team with hosting partners who setup servers for you in their networks.
