Jet Stream BV - Not a startup

Jet Stream BV is a streaming media and CDN pioneer from the Netherlands. The company is privately owned, profitable and grows 75%-100% per year. Jet Stream has no external investors, loans or debts. The company launched in 2002 and was profitable in the first year and has been ever since. The owner is Stef van der Ziel who produced his first webcast in 1994 and owned a successful webcast internet production company before starting Jet Stream.

Unique CDN technologies

Jet Streams' core activity is development and licensing of advanced streaming media management and Content Delivery Network technologies.

The core CDN technologies were developed in the mid nineties by lack of available CDN services required for the webcasting projects.

Jet Stream was started to rebuild and enhance the technologies for commercial use and to secure this intellectual property.

The CDN technologies are licensed to leading telecom operators, enterprises, governments, education and health care organizations in the Netherlands and Belgium.

StreamZilla

In 2003 the StreamZilla service was launched as a demo of the Jet Stream technologies. By popular demand the demo service was turned into a professional service to address the content industry needs.

Powered by leading hosting providers and Jet Stream technology, the service quickly achieved the leading position in the Dutch and Belgian markets.

In 2005 StreamZilla was repositioned as an e-commerce European Streaming Media provider, as a megaPoP with advanced bursting capabilities, on a pan-EU fiber network that today has over 2Tbps capacity and connectivity to all the major EU internet exchanges, access providers and global carriers.

Awards

In 2008 Jet Stream and StreamZilla won several awards including Best EU/UK CDN, best streaming service provider, most innovative and successful media technology company and was awarded with a triple A+ rating for global performance by Keynote. StreamZilla has customers on every continent, with a marketing focus on Europe.

VideoExchange 2008

End 2008 Jet Stream released a major upgrade of the VideoExchange CDN technology.

This new release introduces a user friendly web dashboard and many new advanced features such as CDN resource sharing, a customer self service center and realtime statistics.

The software is pitched internationally and has already been licensed to customers in Holland, Brazil and Russia.

StreamZilla CDN

In 2009 StreamZilla gets a major upgrade to address the enterprise content market.

The e-commerce process is simplified. The new website brings maximum transparency. The service is powered by the latest VideoExchange software.

The infrastructure is expanded and the CDN is prepared for deployment of edge pops outside Europe, although the service already has a triple A+ status for global performance.
