Content Delivery Networks

Content Delivery Networks

Content Delivery Networks have invested millions in infrastructure and hardware. Most are loss-leaders. They are fighting over patents. Most CDN's have a blazingly fast infrastructure. But their CDN technologies and management interfaces are old. The result is that these CDNs need a large and expensive staff of experts to operate their CDN.

Unique IP

The core foundations of VideoExchange were developed in the mid 90's. We needed a good CDN for our own large scale webcast productions. By lack of serious services, and by lack of our own IP infrastructure, we had to develop our own methods and solutions. The result was a unique philosophy, with a unique approach, with unique mechanisms and unique code. The latest release of VideoExchange is a major leap ahead, but is still based on our proven methods.

A software CDN

VideoExchange is true next generation CDN technology. All core and advanced CDN features are written in software. No need for expensive and proprietary appliances: VideoExchange turns any regular webserver into a cutting edge CDN cloud resource that supports all popular media delivery technologies. No more DNS tweaks, global load balancers, network file systems, switches and routers, but a beautiful, professional and easy to use web interface.

The end of the monolithical CDN

Most CDNs have a monolithically designed infrastructure. When they setup an account for a content owner, this content owner is one of the many other users who share the same CDN resources. Since VideoExchange is written in software, you can actually build dedicated CDNs for specific customers, within the CDN. You can offer flat-fee CDN services to resellers who can offload traffic to your bursting servers. You can even overflow traffic to servers from other VideoExchange powered CDNs.

Reinventing the wheel?

Pilots don't build their own airplanes. Couriers don't build their own mini-vans. Captains don't design their own ships. Film makers don't develop their own cameras. Book writers don't code their own Word processor... well you get the point.

Not invented here an issue? We fully understand that you want maximum control over the technologies in your network. You need the flexibility. But stick to your core activities, stop reinventing the wheel. Use our +15 years experience and our professional technologies to build a CDN that suits your needs.
